I recently received a care package from the lovely folks at L’oreal Professionnel — the latest Absolut Repair Lipidium haircare range. On top of that, I went for the hair treatment at Shawn Cutler in Bangsar, to restore moisture and balance to my tresses. My hectic schedule and not so great diet has taken a toll on my hair care regime, and I didn’t have time to tend to my hair after colouring it slightly over two months ago.
Before the treatment
My hair was dry and often tangled (I bun it up at the office), so the treatment came it at the right time. The Absolut Repair Lipidium is enriched with lipidium, oils and ceramides to provide heat protection and prevent the forming of split ends. The latter has become a problem for me of late.
Hairwash
L’Oréal Professionnel Absolute Repair Lipidium Primer
My session began with the customary hair wash, followed by the application of the primer. This haircare is inspired by a make-up primer, where it prepares the hair surface for the masque treatment. The L’Oréal Professionnel Serie Expert Absolut Repair Lipidium Masque targets damaged hair to strengthen it and make it more manageable.

The lipidium compound is made of Latic Acid that helps with cortex reconstruction, Phyto-Keratin and Ceramides that works to structure hair and Lipids that form a barrier film on hair to lock in actives and essential nutrients, which coats hair against new aggressors. This creates an insulating barrier to lock in nutrients and restore healthy hair.
Leave on for 30 minutes
My hair felt significantly softer and stronger after the treatment. Coupled with the L’oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Lipidium shampoo, conditioner and masque, I was able to prolong the hair softness and strength.
After treatment
