Massages have become an indulgence for me – I go for one at least twice a month. Sometimes more, depending on the stress at work and my timetable. Most of the time, I get a massage when the back of my neck feels extremely strained from the hours facing the computer.
I was feeling a little under the weather when I stayed at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside a couple of weeks back, and found the traditional massage extremely therapeutic. This massage was coupled with the Himalayan Salt Glow, a treatment of rich sea salt and sea water to remove dead skin cells, improve blood circulation and moisturises the skin.
To begin, I was ushered to the lounge where I enjoyed a cup of ginger tea. Soon after, I went into the herbal steam bath to open up my pores and relax my frazzled nerves, before my masseur gave my entire body a good exfoliating salt scrub.
After a warm shower, I then began my massage session that combined the art of stretching, long strokes and pressure techniques that sent me into deep slumber. The essential oils and firm kneading is said to improve circulation, lymphatic, muscular and nerve systems. It’s been a while since I got to sleep that way and according to my therapist, I was lacking oxygen and the massage helped increase the oxygen flow to my brain.
The entire process took about 2.5 hours and I walked out feeling pampered and incredibly relaxed. A 60-min session of Traditional Massage cost RM198++, while the 90-min session is RM298++. If you’re staying at the Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside, there is currently a 2D1N spa room package that cost RM500 for two pax and includes breakfast and 60-min massage for two.
