Every now and then, I could use a good spa and massage. And when it’s a good massage, I usually walk out physically and mentally revitalized.

My experience at Estuary Medispa & Esthetics left me feeling as such. Estuary offers spa-goers a pampering sanctuary that caters to both men and women. rif and I enjoyed a different massage each – I did the Coffeetherapy Treatment & Massage while he went for the Relaxing Body Massage and Japanese Synergy Sauna.

Spacious

The place is huge; spanning across a 10,000 square feet space with calming water elements. I felt immediately relaxed as soon as I stepped into Estuary. After filling in some particulars, we were given a cup of tea to unwind before being lead to the massage room.

Japanese Synergy Sauna

rif’s session started with the Japanese Synergy Sauna, a hot stone spa that is also known as “Ganbanyoku”. This method of sauna allows one to detox without going through too intense heat. It’s a great form of detoxifying as this sauna improves circulatory system and is good for the pores.

There is no water involved except for the sweat produced while laying on the rocks. You get bottled waters to replenish the lost perspiration, and according to rif, this sauna “tackled his fatty areas” pretty well. :P

After the sauna, he then enjoyed the Relaxing Body Massage for the next one hour, where the therapist knead his tensed behind and tended to his knots.

My Coffeetherapy Treatment & Massage is one of the popular massages at Estuary, and I found it quite enjoyable. I was given a body mask and wrap, and a soothing facial to deep cleanse my skin.

Facial

One of the things I enjoyed most about my session was my time in the Jacuzzi. It was a nice way to relax before I was prepped for the massage. The therapist I had was quite skilled as she expertly undid my (many) knots without causing much pain.

The entire treatment and massage experience took 3 hours and my body felt tender, relaxed and renewed. Estuary’s Coffeetherapy Treatment & Massage cost RM388 (3 hours), while rif’s 1.5 hours of Relaxing Body Massage cost RM118. The Japanese Synergy Sauna is RM80 for a 45-minute session.
