Check-in counter

Jimbaran is a popular tourist spot in Bali as this tiny fishing village offers a white sand beach and a stunning sunset view. With several world class beach resorts and villas in the area, Jimbaran Bay is said to be the Beverly Hills of Bali. I stayed at Le Meridien Hotel in Jimbaran, where my Lagoon Access Room allowed me a 24-hour access to the private salt water lagoon pool.

I love the feel of the place!

Imagine swimming to the bar by the pool and Bamboo Chic restaurant from your room, getting your food and beverage fix, and then swimming back to your room. That’s the essence of good life. Of course, you can opt to walk but I liked the idea of swimming to breakfast, and back.

Refreshment centre

Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran boasts 118 guest rooms, suites, penthouses and villas – aqua themed and all stylishly designed while retaining a Balinese influence. My room came internet access, a SMART 3D LED flat screen TV, iPod docking station and a king size bed with hypoallergenic pillows, among others.

The bathroom is almost as big as the room, with a bathtub, separate rainforest shower and toilet, and large mirrors. If you’re a fan of bubble baths, you’ll love the bathtub at Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran as it is large enough to fit two adults comfortably.

Bliss indeed

During my two nights stay here, I slept comfortably as the pillows were firm yet fluffy, and the duvet was thick enough for me to snuggle under and feel warm. Bed, duvet and pillows are very important to me as a good night’s rest determines my mood the next day.

Breakfast spread

Bamboo Chic is Le Meridien’s signature restaurant that offers buffet breakfast and a la carte lunch and dinner. Breakfast starts at 6.30am till 10.30am daily, and offers a variety of items including breakfast pizza, frittata, pastries, suckling pig, cold cuts, dim sum, pancake, waffles, cereal and cheeses.

Cherry-Lemon-Pepper

I really enjoyed the eye openers by Jean-Georges, especially the mango-chili-lime concoction as it made a good palate opener. Two of those and I was really to tackle the spread!

Honeycomb

All (if not most) of the items are made in-house and do try the honey from the honeycomb on display at the pastry counter. As you tuck into breakfast, staff will come around with platters of mini treats. I got to try a fusion vegetable wantan with chocolate sauce, pork satay and raspberry yogurt.

Smoqee Lounge & Sky Bar

Gelato lovers can chill at WALA Gelato Parlour just next to Bamboo Chic, and in the evening, check out Smoqee Lounge and Sky Bar for a view of the sunset in Jimbaran. On top of Bamboo Chic is Bamboo Lounge, a casual-chic place for drinks and nibbles.

Alternatively, you can choose to hang out at Latitude 8 Bar for wicked cocktails, evening tapas and coffee. I highly recommend the Kir Royale, made with champagne and blackcurrant liquor.

24-hour Fitness Centre

The fitness centre is open 24 hours, so night owls who want to burn some calories can make good use of the treadmill and weights. There is also a yoga class in the evening, where hotel guests and stretch their limbs while basking in the beautiful sunset and view of the lagoon.

Gorgeous shot of Celebration Pavilion, by rif

The Celebration Pavilion boasts a rooftop, encased in glass and surrounded by infinity ponds, with uninterrupted views of Jimbaran Bay. Such a gorgeous place to say “I do” — especially with white fine sands beneath your feet.

Take me here and I”ll say “I Do” to you! 😛

The Bale Banjar roof top ballroom directly across the Celebration Pavilion can accommodate up to 120 guests, so couples can host their cocktail reception and/or dinner. As Bali is said to be the Top 10 Wedding Destinations in the world, the Celebration Pavilion would be ideal for couples to celebrate the beginning of their life journey together. Now I feel like renewing my vows!

Enjoying the Meridian Stress Release Massage at Serenity Spa

For guests who want to unwind from stress, the Serenity Spa helps undo knots and knead away your aches. I especially enjoyed the signature Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran massage where I was given a soothing massage with organic massage butter, specially imported from Bandung and exclusive only to Le Meridien Bali Jimbaran.

P1050536

Butter me up please!

The butter makes the skin smooth and supple, and the massage improves blood circulation. During the massage, my therapist placed warm herbal packs on my back and subsequently, my tummy to help me relax. She was very detailed with the massage, and took the time to undo my many knots, accumulated from stress and working on the computer for long hours.

View from the Lagoon View Room

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay from the time I checked in till the time I left the hotel for the airport. While waiting for my flight at the airport, I realized I spent 5 days and 4 nights in Bali, living the life with plenty to eat and drink. Coupled with the massage from Sheraton and Le Meridien, I felt like a Kobe cow ready for slaughter. I think I would have made a fine steak and coincidentally, I was born in the year of the ox.
