Our travel and holiday decisions revolve around our little ones and how suitable the accommodations and destinations are for them. MA & MJ really enjoyed Dorsett Kuala Lumpur’s ‘Interstellar Adventure’ Themed Room when we did a staycation recently, citing the room as “their favourite” part of the hotel.
So much so they didn’t want to leave Dorsett Kuala Lumpur when it was time to check out!
The ‘Interstellar Adventure’ Themed Room is part of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur’s Vibrant Family room package, echoing the brand’s core value of curating every detail to ensure guests enjoy an unforgettable stay. I have to say – detail to attention is apparent from the moment you open the door. The room is done up to mimic a galaxy with starry night skies projected on the walls.
The bed sheets, pillowcases, bed headboards and wall decals are also according to the Interstellar Adventure theme. There’s a rocket tent and a telescope to get the kids into the astronaut character, and an activity pack which they really enjoyed.
The Interstellar Adventure Themed Room comes with an adjoining room for parents, so Jien and I had space to tuck LR in (cot provided upon request), away from the chatters and giggles of our girls. The room package includes two kids’ entry tickets to Petrosains in KLCC with one-way complimentary transfer from Dorset Kuala Lumpur to Petrosains.
It’s been 20 years since I last visited Petrosains (during my school days) and there’s so many more interactive activities to experience and discover. Didn’t think we would spend that much time at Petrosains but we ended up staying for over 3 hours.
As a parent, I like how Dorsett Kuala Lumpur tied in the Interstellar Adventure room concept with Petrosains as it allows the kids to learn new things (educational) during the staycation. The room package also includes daily breakfast for two adults and two children, and children also eat for free if the parents dine at Checkers Café.
Jien and I decided to have an early dinner at Dorsett Kuala Lumpur upon check-in as LR needed to be tucked in early. Pricing is fairly reasonable given the hotel’s location in the city centre – we’re talking RM25-30 per main course. Dorsett Kuala Lumpur also offers set lunches from RM28 onwards.
The hotel is also a short walking distance to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and quite a number of popular eateries along Jalan Imbi and Bukit Bintang. The Interstellar Adventure Themed Room package is RM798nett per night for a set of interconnecting rooms, daily breakfast, two Petrosains tickets for kids and one-way hotel transfer to Petrosains.
