Hilton Petaling Jaya has undergone a big revamp and the refreshed look boasts a contemporary feel with tasteful designs and artsy touches. With the completion of renovation, the hotel proudly revealed its 554 guestrooms, executive lounge, ballroom, and meeting space – all very elegant with subtle touches of vibrant hues – to the public.
Newly appointed General Manager, Peter Webster, is very excited about the hotel’s new look and is confident its international-standard facilities will please savvy travelers. I was invited to stay at the King Executive Suite of Hilton Petaling Jaya over the weekend and was very impressed with the entire experience.
The 710sq ft suite exudes fine taste, with soothing natural tones, a king size bed, living area, dining area, adjustable work desk with ergonomic chair, a well-equipped bathroom and 42” LCD TV.
I have to rave about the bathroom in my suite – it comes with Peter Thomas Roth products as well as dental kit, shower cap, toiletry bag, cotton pads and sewing kit. I liked that the bathroom had a rainforest shower, and the water pressure and temperature was perfect.
My bed was large and plush, with fluffy pillows and a thick duvet. rif who is fussy about beds commented that this bed was ideal for him as it offered good back support.
As a guest of the King Executive Suite, I also enjoyed exclusive access to the Executive Lounge with complimentary breakfast, beverages throughout the day, and cocktails and canapés in the evening. For the internet savvy, you can enjoy high-speed internet access at 50% discount, or use the complimentary WiFi internet access at the Executive Lounge.
Guests can enjoy the sunny weather by the swimming pool and fitness enthusiasts can use the hotel’s 24-hour fitness centre. For those wanting to unwind, try the aromatherapy massage at the spa.
Food is aplenty at Hilton Petaling Jaya. You can choose to dine at Toh Yuen, Genji Japanese Restaurant, Paya Serai, Caffe Cino, Uncle Chilli’s, or stay in and enjoy the in-room dining service.
Hilton Petaling Jaya is a 15-minute drive away from Kuala Lumpur and is very close to shopping malls, recreational facilities and entertainment centres nearby. Via the Light Rail Transit (LRT) station a few metres away from the hotel, it only takes 22 minutes to reach KL Sentral and 30 minutes to Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Getting to the hotel from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) takes 45 minutes by car.
During our stay, I learnt how to prepare sushi from Chef Richard of Genji Japanese Restaurant. While I survived and made a somewhat decent sushi roll, I will not be considering a career in sushi-making anytime soon.

The breakfast spread at the Executive Lounge is simple but of good quality. If you’re looking for quantity, head down to Paya Serai for the buffet breakfast. I liked the peaceful atmosphere of the lounge and the personalized service as it allowed rif and I to eat at a leisurely pace and enjoy our conversation.
On a whole, my stay at Hilton Petaling Jaya was memorable. I enjoyed the activities planned, the great company, good food and most of all, my plush suite. For more information about the hotel and to check on available dates and prices, kindly visit Hilton Petaling Jaya’s official website.
