Home Food Reviews Daidomon Restaurant @ Great Eastern Mall

Daidomon has been frequently advertising its “all you can eat buffet” promotion in the newspapers. The only thing that interested me in that promo, was the different cuts of beef one could eat for RM49.90++. The restaurant was rather quiet; only 1/3 of the shop was occupied that night.

Selections from the buffet section

Despite that, service was pretty slow. I found the buffet section unappetizing, except for the chicken karaage, cheese sausage and prawn ball. The buffet is mostly ala carte style and you can order whatever you want from the menu provided. Tastewise, the food was nothing to shout about. After a while, they all started to taste pretty similar.

Seafood on grill

That said, I enjoyed the beef belly, tataki and striploin. We made a few orders of these. The seafood was just alright for me. I found the butter fish a tad fishy but the salmon was fresh. Strange, the butter fish sashimi was fresh and sweet. We also tried some lamb slices, which had much fat and became chewy after grilling. The chicken was under-seasoned.

Drinks station

For dessert, we had some mango and lychee jelly and assorted ice cream. The ice cream counter wasn’t visible to customers. It is located behind the bar counter so you will have to notify the waiter of the flavours you want.

All in, the food was nothing to shout about but if you love beef, this promo is a good way to indulge in as much beef as you want.

Ambiance: 5.5/10
Price: 5.5/10
Food: 5/10 (pork-free)
Verdict: The food is so-so, but if you are big on beef, it’s good value for money.

Yeah I have always found this to be enticing, especially with their all you can eat concept of good beef grilled on the spot. Though this escaped my mind most of the time.

Not really worth the amount of money paid. Better go for BBQ & Steamboat at lower prices.
