Pullman Phuket Arcadia Naithon Beach

by Bangsar Babe

Phuket has always been on our list of places to visit and rif had already planned and booked our year-end vacation to the island when we received an invite from Accor Asia Pacific last month, to experience Accor Thai and all it has to offer. We visited three of Accor’s resorts in Phuket, Khao Lak and Krabi, to check out their new MyResorts programme.

These experiences include MyGlass, where one can indulge in free flow soft drinks all day, and alcoholic beverages from 7pm to 10pm. MyKids is Accor’s extension of hospitality to junior guests in a form of a special welcome gift in the room and access to the Kids Club at the resort.

Chilling by the balcony

We first arrived at Pullman Phuket Arcadia, one of Accor’s newest properties perched on the headland, with a breath-taking view of the Andaman Sea. Our room was sophisticated and spacious – a nice balance of modern design and resort charm. From our balcony, we enjoyed the ocean breeze and stunning views of the sea as we relaxed by the outdoor sofa.

In-room dining, which we enjoyed by our balcony

The resort offers six F&B options on top of in-room dining, which rif and I tried when we first arrived. We had a sumptuous lunch of tom yam soup, pad si ew (Thai stir fried noodles), green curry and minced pork with basil.

Thai Night Buffet

We tried the Thai Night Buffet at Elements (available on Mondays) where guests were taken through a journey of Thai cuisine, some with a modern twist. There is also a Thai handicraft market where peddlers display their goods – pearls jewellery, paintings, handmade soaps and souvenirs. This allows one to enjoy a “night market” atmosphere at the comfort of the resort. You get to haggle too, to complete the experience! ;)

A little bit Japanese fusion in this creation

Vero is an Italian trattoria and wine bar where the pastas are handmade and pizzas, baked in a wood oven for that delicious smokiness in the crust. This is the perfect spot for food, wine and conversation overlooking the Andaman Sea.

Amazing view

Even Dhatri Spa boasts a spectacular view – you get to soothe your eyes as the spa therapists kneads you into a state of bliss. Alternatively, guests can choose to relax by the pool overlooking Naithon beach and its beautiful surroundings. There are also two other pools with a kid pool for families.
