As I wait for the make-up and hair crew to set up in my suite at Brown’s Hotel, I realize my time in London is coming to an end. I was flown here for Haig Club London to have dinner and cocktails with David Beckham. The first three days were spent shopping and exploring the city, catching up with friends and doing some good eating.
I’ve had dinner at the award-winning Punjabi restaurant Tayyabs, brunch at Balthazar, steak at Hawksmoor, Burger & Lobster, oysters and champagne at Harrod’s, nibbles at Borough Market, drinks at Experimental Cocktail Bar and ramen at Bone Daddies. Plus Four Seasons roast duck rice for supper. Am surprised at how I managed to squeeze all this in a span of 3 days.
Also did a fair bit of shopping Bond Street, Harrod’s, Selfridges and Fortnam & Mason – thank goodness for the baggage allowance I get on my return trip home! It’s going to be a day of photoshoots and B-roll, followed by the much-anticipated dinner with David tonight.
Will be flying off first thing tomorrow morning, back to KL and straight to the office where I prepare to fly off for my next trip, this time, office related. While I’m sad to leave London (who doesn’t like a grand suite with butler service and people to fuss around you?), I am looking forward to go home to rif and our two cats.
And stuff my face with a hearty meal of (hopefully) banana leaf rice or char kuay teow!
