A friend once told me that facial turns back the clock, similar to what face-lift does. It was never something I saw importance in despite many of my girl friends advocating the necessity. But I was soon a believer after I tried the Essential Facial Plus at DRx Clinic & Medispa in Plaza Damas.
While I don’t put on foundation in general, I do sometimes suffer from clogged pores from always touching my face and the pollution level in KL city centre where I work. Essential Facial comes highly recommended by Dr Chiam to maintain good complexion.
I was ushered to a treatment room where my therapist did a double cleansing to remove all traces of makeup and dirt. Initially, I wasn’t open to the idea of microdermabrasion as I thought, “I didn’t need one”. This process involved a special device with diamond tips, which worked as a suction to reduce pore size (by suctioning out all the impurities). My face felt tighter when she completed this.
The next step was extraction and Ultrasonic cleansing, which didn’t hurt as my therapist told me I didn’t have that many blackheads and whiteheads. I remember falling asleep during this process only to be woken up because I started “sleeping like a prawn”.
She then applied some PG vitamin C onto my skin to help with the production of collagen for smoother, lighter skin tone. The final step was the therapeutic mask, which they left on my face for 30 minutes. This process was slightly cold, meant to tighten the pores after the extraction process.
My skin felt tighter and smoother after the facial – almost like a mini facelift. It was also very timely as I was due to travel for Haig Club London, so my skin was in great condition. Even the makeup artist I got for the photoshoot said my skin was surprisingly supple considering the harsh weather.
An Essential Facial Plus session costs RM420 and for more information, visit the official site here. To read about my skincare regime by DRx Clinic, click here. Thank you Drx Clinic, for making sure my skin looks its best! 🙂
