There are plenty of things I like about The Hound Café in OUG – Cookie the friendly beagle who greets you as you enter, its understated yet cosy décor, and the coffee and cakes available. The café is dog friendly so people bring their own to interact with Cookie.
The coffee is pretty decent, though I prefer my flat white a tad stronger. rif had his usual; a long black which he rather enjoyed along with a slice of chocolate banana cake (RM12). A tad small the slice, I felt. #forevergreedy
We also tried the blueberry cheesecake that I found quite good, despite not being a fan. The biscuit base was not overly hard and the cheese texture was light yet solid enough. They also have mango cheesecake so maybe I’ll try that the next time.
Service was pleasant and I really like the ambiance of the place. It’s not overly rowdy like many cafés have become and you get to play and cuddle with Cookie (and other patron’s dogs if they allow you to). I wasn’t the most attentive partner to rif that evening and he wasn’t amused hahaha!
Food: 6/10 (pork free)
Verdict: Cosy spot for a cuppa. And the café is dog friendly.
