If you’re a regular blog reader, you would know that curry laksa is one of my all-time favourite – I can eat it five days in a row and not get sick of the taste. Of late, I’ve been getting my fix at this place called Restoran Ah Loy in OUG, which rif and I stumbled upon by chance.
We were initially headed for some pork noodles but the fish head curry laksa someone was tucking into caught my fancy, so we gave this a shot. The curry laksa comes with deep fried fish pieces, and the broth is thick and packed with spices. You can opt to have just the curry laksa alone, but the fried fish head gives the noodles a nice twist.

Fried fish pieces

XO Seafood Loh Mee
They are also known for their asam laksa and XO seafood loh mee – rif tried the latter and it was also pretty decent. There was a good amount of XO in the noodles, which accentuated the flavours of the seafood. I like that the noodles didn’t have much alkaline smell to it so it didn’t overpower the XO. A few dashes of black vinegar kicks the flavour up a notch.

Pretty tasty with black vinegar

Fried sui kow
Skip the fried sui kow, for this was cold and soggy. They serve tong sui too but I didn’t try any during my visits.
