Naughty Nuri’s serves some of the best pork ribs I’ve eaten – an incredibly tasty combination of Balinese seasoning and pork, charred and glistening. I went to the Batu Belig outlet with a dear friend for lunch when I visited the island, and was so tempted to order a second slab.
The restaurant is adorned with cheeky pig paintings, porky figurines and wooden tables, which gave out a casual, outback vibe. Service during my visit was fast albeit mechanical; not that I cared because I was there for one thing. The pork ribs.
Naughty Nuri’s ribs was a glorious sight, with a crust around the edges and the meat was really tender yet firm enough to eat with a knife and fork. I ditched the cutlery and ate with my hands, the way ribs should be enjoyed.
I had mine with a glass of coconut water to combat the sweltering heat and proclaimed this to be one of the tastiest meals I’ve had in Bali. For IDR89,000 (RM30) per slab.
