LewisGene, Solaris Mont Kiara

As the coffee culture grows in Malaysia, more cafes (and coffee drinkers) become part of the artisanal coffee movement where each detail of the coffee journey – crème, art, froth and aroma – matters.

Pretty good coffee art

In Solaris Mont Kiara, LewisGene is said to serve good coffee and café food in a laid-back setting. During my visit, the place was crowded; both inside and the balcony. If you’re looking for a quiet place to chill, you might be disappointed.

Cappuccino

Service can get a bit disjointed when it’s a full house – I waited 30 minutes for my coffee. The flat white (RM8.90) and cappuccino (RM9.90) were served a tad hot for comfortable drinking. We waited another 5 minutes or so to allow the temperature to reduce.

Tastewise, the coffees were above average. Nothing mind-blowing but I do like the coffee art here. I wouldn’t mind giving this place another go – for their breakfast and specialty coffees. We’ll see.

Ambiance: 6/10
Price: 6.5/10
Coffee: 6/10
Verdict: Decent coffee but too crowded for comfort during peak hours.

Thanks for the review – 30 minutes seems like a long time to wait for a coffee, so I think I might skip this place!
