myBurgerLab, OUG
The burger cult in Klang Valley started with myBurgerLab (I assume) and I’ve lost count of the number of burger places that opened up – some a duplicate of myBurgerLab and others, with their own specialty burgers.
I’ll admit; I never tried the burgers from MBL. Not because I didn’t want to, but because the burgers were a case of “now you see, now you don’t” the minute the shop opens. The unavailability of the burgers before 7pm on two attempts left me very frustrated so I never went back.
Until recently, when they opened an outlet in OUG.
My Say Cheese² (RM18) requires two slices of cheddar cheese to cover the two beef patties, topped with onions, slathered with house special sauce and tucked into a charcoal bun. That was a faceful of beef. It was carnal and primitive in a bun.
Like the name suggests, Beautiful Mess 5.0 (RM18) was indeed, a messy affair. Grilled beef patty topped with fried Portobello slices, a sunny side up and sharp cheddar between two halves of charcoal bun. It wasn’t as meaty as my burger, but held its own pretty well.
The beef patties didn’t exactly knock my socks off. They were fairly well seasoned but could be juicier. I’d give myBurgerLab points for creativity and for their Portobello Fries (RM15). The latter was very addictive – crispy on the outside and juicy at the centre.
Total damage was RM57 for the above; we only upgraded one burger to a set (additional RM6), which came with fries and bottomless drink. On a whole, I prefer the patties from KGB but reckon the fries at myburgerlab are better.

had the one at PJ once and the experience was pretty good except for the wait time (which is the reason why I’ve only been there once.)
Yeah, I really cannot tahan the wait. Good thing OUG don’t have to wait that long.
