With so many burger joints mushrooming in Klang Valley, rif and I gave in to this burger craze at Crayon Burger. The décor was basic, with colourful art on white walls. I was there on a Sunday and was thankful I didn’t have to queue.
To place an order, refer to the blackboard near the counter with chalk drawings of the burgers. I tried the Zombie (RM14) and Peanut Butter Bacon (RM15), and topped up RM5 for fries and bottomless drink.
Zombie comprises Australian grass fed beef patty, Swiss cheese and onion ketchup between a charcoal bun. While it is a popular item on the menu, I found this rather average. The bun was too soft, while the patty didn’t really pack much flavour.
The Peanut Butter Bacon Burger was a bit better. Raspberry jam, peanut butter, beef patty and crispy beef bacon in a pink bun, this savoury-sweet combination wasn’t great, but not terrible either.
For RM15, I found the burgers small and hardly substantial. They need to work on the patties and bun texture too.
