What can RM7 buy you in Bangsar (mamak food not counted)? Eating at the famous (yet overrated) banana leaf rice place would usually make me RM10 poorer. And I hate how the amount of food they give you varies according to body size. I always get a scoop of rice the size of my palm.
When J blogged about this RM10 lamb chop she had in Damansara Jaya a few days ago, I teasingly asked her when she was going to take me there. The sweetie remembered, and asked me if I was game for a quick dinner last night. Of course I was.
Parking was a nightmare. I ended up parking my car by the roadside. I wasn’t feeling lamb-y that night, so I ordered the Fish & Chips which came with aglio-olio pasta. Portion was generous, and all for the price of RM7.
J had the chicken chop (RM8), which came with the same sides as mine. The fries were freshly fried and the pasta was lightly seasoned. I preferred her chicken chop to my fish & chips, as the latter tasted like the fillet-o-fish from McD. I never liked that burger. The chicken chop came doused in brown sauce. I wouldn’t say it was very good; it was decent. But for the portion and RM8 price tag, I’m a happy and satisfied girl. We also tried the fried chicken from this stall called “Hot Chicks.” I wasn’t kidding about the name LOL. Nothing special, but I like that the chicken was freshly fried.
Dinner was decent, the company was delightful and an order of SKOL beer totally made my day. Most girls I know would never drink a SKOL. So thanks J, for being such a good sport! *hugs*
Food: 5.5/10 (pork-free, only for the western stall)
Verdict: Decent food, good portion and reasonable prices. I’m definitely going back for more.
