I’ve never been that big a fan of café hopping simply because I prefer sticking to a few that serves good coffee and if possible, desserts that are worth checking out. There’s something about Fluffed Café & Dessert Bar in Taman Paramount that appeals to me – it has a vibe that makes me feel at ease each time I’m there.

It could also be because of the team; there is so much passion and fire in them; if only my team had half of that. While not everything caught my fancy, I really like how they make their customers feel – welcomed. It’s been a while since I felt this way about a café and it wasn’t because they knew who I was. Everyone is treated the same, unless you’re a jack*ss towards them haha.

I’ve been there enough times to check out a few of what Fluffed has to offer and the Pooh Bear’s Favourite remains my personal favourite. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as tucking into a plate of crisp, warm waffle topped handcrafted Hokey Pokey ice cream, crushed honeycomb and almond praline, salted caramel and fresh fruits after a meal or even a long day.

Alternatively, try the Snoopy & Peanut, where charcoal waffle is used to create that stark contrast to the toppings of homemade peanut butter ice cream, peanut butter drizzle, toasted peanuts, cookie crumble and fresh banana. That was also quite good though I liked the combination for Pooh Bear’s Favourite better.

I tried the Pink Latte which they claimed is made from all-natural red yeast rice and milk for that pinkish hue. It’s a very girly latte and tasted so too. Not something I would fancy (don’t know why rif thought I would lol) but if you’re not big on coffee, this is an alternative to that and also chai tea. I liked the chai tea better. ;)

Another signature at Fluffed in the Rose Lychee Cloudcake, which is light and moist with pastry rosewater cream, lychee and strawberry slices. I thought it was a good balance of sweetness and rose aroma – enough to let you know it’s there, but not to a point it overpowers.

While not everything was to my liking, I like going to Fluffed for their waffles and warm service. I think the latter is really important as it makes people feel welcomed and appreciated. So here’s hoping they keep up the good work. And service. :D
