The burger scene is Klang Valley is growing – every week or so, a new joint opens. It’s definitely more exciting to observe the growth of burger outlets compared to foreign currencies, although the latter would be highly beneficial to my bank account should I make wise investments. :D

Bobby now has a shop!

Sometimes, it’s the simple pleasures in life that I treasure more. Bobby called a few weeks earlier to let me know of his new shop not too far away from his original startup. I told him I would pop by when the craving hits, and it did as I was on the flight home from an overseas assignment.

Say hi to Bobby

Gotta love Bobby’s t-shirt. Hehehe… ;)

rif picked me up from the airport and we hit the highway to Bobby’s shop – famished and in need of a good burger fix. The outlet is spacious and easily accommodates 50-60 people (indoor and outdoor seating available) at one time. Definitely more comfortable compared to his humble stall outside his family home.

Buns on the grill

I went for the kill – Bangsar Babe Triple Special Cheese (RM10.50), Roti John Cheese (RM4.50) and Lamb Tiesto (RM6.50). Not every day I get to indulge in Bobby’s burgers, so spare me the cholesterol and calories lecture.

Bangsar Babe Triple Special Cheese

As always, the burgers were massive and deliciously sloppy. Especially the Bangsar Babe Triple Special Cheese, created and named after me. Hehehe. You can choose between chicken or beef, but I generally like to have them both; gives the burger a fuller flavour. That was one crazy pile of meat patties, cheese, caramelised onions, fresh onions, lettuce, omelette and house special sauces.

It was good stuff.

Still my favourite pick at Burger Bobby

But I’m going to be unbiased here; as sweet as Bobby is to name his burgers after me. If I could choose just one burger, it would be his signature Lamb Tiesto. Bobby’s version of the prosperity burger is wicked. Peppery lamb patty with cheese, egg and sauces between two soft yet crisp buns. Mmmmm hmmmm!

Roti John

Crisply grilled bun and tasty filling

rif’s all-time favourite is the Roti John Cheese – a footlong creation with meat, cheese, egg and vegetables. Less meaty and saucy compared to the two burgers, but just as delicious. You must try this too!

Our TOKL food awards. I gifted mine to Bobby, the year we were nominated. :)

Despite so many burger joints around, Bobby has plenty of fans. Many who are more hardcore than myself. That’s because he really puts in effort in making his burgers, and it shows.

Too sweet for my liking

Burger Bobby Simpang 3 is available from 5pm to 2am daily. In the morning, they serve nasi dagang and other Kelantan delights prepared by Bobby’s mother. You can also order grilled items like chicken chop if burger ain’t your thing. Then again, why would you even go there if you’re not a burger fan? ;)

Grilled Chicken Chop

It’s pretty easy to get to this outlet. Turn left at the traffic lights after Jusco AEON in Taman Keramat and head straight up the road. You won’t miss Bobby’s bright signboard on the right. Enjoy!
