Grand Dorsett Subang is serving a Christmas Eve and Christmas Day buffet comprising roast turkey, prime rib, hickory smoked mussels and more, for RM98++ per person (dinner on the Eve) and RM68++ per person (Christmas Day lunch).
I was given a sneak preview of some of the dishes on offer — roast turkey with all the works, slipper lobster, paella, lobster bisque, salmon in butter sauce and grilled vegetables. All were pretty decent and the turkey stuffing was a highlight for me. I arrived slightly later than expected so the lobster was swept off the buffet counter. Including the second round. :(
The turkey was moist and flavourful, especially with cranberry sauce and I enjoyed the turkey stuffing just as much. Another dish I liked was the grilled salmon, which went really well with the butter sauce. I had several helpings of this.
Chocolate Yule Log is a permanent fixture during Christmas meals and Grand Dorsett’s version was moist, chocolate-y and rich. I would have eaten another slice but by then, my stomach was begging me to stop. Overall, I think the kitchen team did well this time around. That said, I do hope they can keep up the momentum (and crowd) during the actual promotion day.
