The plan was to grab a donut, but I wasn’t in the mood for it. We wanted something sweet and cold, and the first thing that crossed my mind was Jonker Sweets Dessert.
Shum had a mango lolo. This combination of shaved ice topped with mango cubes, mango flavoured puree and sago looked pathetic. “Is it any good?” I asked. “Nah”, she said. From the look and sound of it, this was a flop. Expensive too, at RM6.50 per meagre bowl.
I felt like a yam & sweet corn ice shaving, which tasted like an icy version of bubur cha cha with sweet corn topping. The dessert lacked coconut milk and the yam cubes looked like they have been left outside for ages. I felt cheated having to fork out RM6.50 for something this substandard.
I’ve always wondered how the desserts here tasted like, and now I know!
Ambiance: 4/10
Price: 3/10
Food: 2/10
Verdict: Unless you like wasting your money, it’s best to avoid this place.
