Miss World Malaysia 2009: The Grand Finale

by Bangsar Babe

Dear all,

Thank you for your continuous support in voting for me as your online favourite in the pageant – I won the Miss Popular Subsidiary Title! Also, I managed to get into the Top 10 in the pageant.Although I didn’t win, I’m proud that I’ve come this far from the girl I was many years ago. I gave it my best, and I put in 110% of effort, so I hope I didn’t disappoint any of you. I know you all wanted me to win. I already consider myself a winner, with so much support from friends and loved ones.

Q&A Session

Two contestant had to answer the same question, and Thanuja and I shared the question:

If you were crowned Miss World Malaysia 2009 and a scandal about you made headlines, what would your course of action be?

My answer: If the scandal about me was TRUE, I would leave it up to the committee and the public to decide if I should remain as Miss World Malaysia 2009. Should they decide I am not fit to hold the title, I am prepared to relinquish the title, and take full responsibility for my actions. However, if the scandal about me was FALSE, I would wholeheartedly deny it and prove my innocence.

Top 10

Tgin & Abby

I owe a lot of it to rif and my best friends Tgin Min and Chin Han. These people have been supporting me from young, especially Tgin Min whom I know since 7 years old. Thank you all for holding up banners for me, and for making my presence in the pageant VERY noticeable. Abby, thanks for supporting me and for voting for me too, despite knowing me for a short period of time.

Mei Shum, Mike, Hanim and May, thanks so much for coming to support me – you guys were always there for me even during my first pageant. And thank you Hoi Mun, for collecting my thumbdrive and helping my pass my blog posts to rif so he can update my blog on my behalf. And thank you for taking so many nice photos of me that night.

To rif, I would never get so far without your support. If you hadn’t encouraged me to join the pageant, I would never know how much potential I had in me. And thank you for arranging for people to hold the banners, and getting our friends together to support me – it means the world to me.

To my family, thank you for coming to see me that night, and for paying RM500 per person just to eat Sakae Sushi (pageant sponsor). And thank you for voting for me, and for believing in me.

There was one thing I wasn’t happy about that night:
My friends/supporters were bullied and verbally attacked by another contestant’s supporters. I was really upset when I found out, and I thought it was downright nasty. I have no idea who the bully was, but I know it was from that row of people. Come on, it was a fair competition, so why did you all have to resort to such methods?

To Kyan May, sorry, but I really think your friends or rather, one of them was a jerk to pick on my friends. They didn’t do anything to offend him. If he has a problem, take it up with me, not my friends.
