Home Food Reviews Johnny’s Restaurant, 1 Utama

Sonia wanted to have oyster mee sua for lunch so we went to 1 Utama for that last week. When we got there, Dan and Billy said they didn’t feel like having mee sua and suggested Johnny’s instead. Poor Sonia…All of us ordered the set lunch (RM 8.90) that came with soup, main course and ice cream. Angie, Sonia, Gab and Dan had the Belacan Fried Rice while Shum and myself ordered the Thai Kuay Teow Soup. Billy went for the Pineapple Fried Rice. The tom yam soup was lukewarm. It would have tasted alright if it were hot. Our food took ages to arrive. 15 minutes after ordering, 2 plates of belacan fried rice came…lukewarm. The other 2 plates came 15 minutes later…again, lukewarm. While the others were tucking in, Shum, Billy and I were staring at them with our very hungry “muka kesian” but they were too busy gobbling their food to notice. :PMy kuay teow soup came 15 minutes after the 2nd batch of belacan fried rice while Billy’s dish arrived 20 minutes after my kuay teow. The poor thing must have been starving. My noodles came topped with chicken slices, beansprouts and some sad looking parsley garnish. Luckily, this was served hot. I found the broth really sweet and didn’t like it but I was in no position to complain since I was starving. It looked as though the others didn’t enjoy their food either. The nicest thing of the set was the ice cream. Yeap, that’s how crappy their food was. Lunch cost us RM 71.65 including 5% tax and 10% service charge for the 7 of us. Dan…Billy…how come you guys chose this place?? 0_0

Ambiance: 5/10

Food: 2/10
Service: 3/10
Verdict: Lousy service, lousier food. Dine here only if you fancy the long wait for your lukewarm, below average food.
