Sometime last week, rif and I had dinner at Capri Cafe. Situated next to the Sports Toto shop in Lucky Garden, this cafe has been around for quite some time. We ate here a few months back and found the food to be decent and reasonably priced.
rif ordered the Cantonese Yin Yong while I had the Mun Yee Mee. His Yin Yong was quite nice. The noodles had a slight wok hei flavour topped with eggy gravy, chicken, prawns and squid. It could have been saltier but this was fixed with some chili padi and soy sauce.
My yee mee was hard and chewy. The gravy was as unappetizing as it looked and it lacked flavour. This time, no amount of soy sauce could rectify the lack of taste. Lucky for me, rif agreed to swap noodles halfway through. He thought my noodles were alright. I guess one man’s meat is another man’s poison. 0_0
Ambiance: 4/10
Price: 7/10
Food: 5/10
Verdict: A nice change from the usual coffee-shop or mamak stalls. I’d stick to their beef hor fun and Cantonese Kuay Teow from now on.
