Obanhmi, 1 Utama

by Bangsar Babe

Obanhmi in 1 Utama is the offshoot of the original outlet in Damansara Uptown, serving the same signature items and business was brisk when rif and I paid them a visit. The concept is the same – place an order at the counter, settle the bill and wait for your food to be served.

1 Utama outlet

A good and bad thing, I reckon. Because some people tend to take their own sweet time and ponder when they get to the front of the line, leaving the more decisive ones to wait and seethe in hunger. If you’re one of those who are unsure about your order, get the staff to make some recommendations so you don’t take up too much time.

O Roasty

I went for the lunch set (RM14 if I remember correctly) – an O Roasty, filled with roasted pork, egg, pickled vegetables and chilli sauce. This comes with a choice of drink and roll. The Dry Grilled Pork Vermicelli which I remember better as O in a Bowl also comes in a set, which is better value for money.

Dry Grilled Pork Vermicelli

For some reason, I thought the noodles taste better at the 1 Utama outlet; the grilled pork felt more tender. Service is fairly prompt and turnover time is fast, so you can most probably get a table in less than 30 minutes during peak hours. Unless of course some people choose to stay with nothing but ice left in their cups and sit till the cows come home hahaha.
