There’s plenty to like about Coffee Good Golly Miss Molly in Petaling Jaya; the décor being one of them. I was told about this place by my father in-law, who happens to be quite the coffee drinker of late. In his words, “I quite like the coffee at that Golly Molly place. It’s not too bitter.”
Keeping that in mind, rif and I popped by last weekend to give it a shot and dad in-law was right. The coffee was pretty decent. The flat white (RM9) was smooth with a strong espresso flavour. I reckon the beans were to my liking, for even the long black (RM6) was pretty good.
We also had a slice of chocolate mascarpone cake (RM11) – adequately dense with a biscuit crumb base. Not bad, but not particularly noteworthy either. It is however, a good addition to have when you’re there for coffee.
The ambiance is cosy and great for those in search of a quiet spot. I prefer this to Artisan in PJ because it is less chaotic and I can hear myself talking most of the time. Most cafés these days aren’t as peaceful, which can be a bummer if I’m having an important discussion with someone.
Ambiance:6.5/10
Price: 6.5/10
Food: 6.5/10 (pork free)
Verdict: If you’re looking for a cosy spot with decent coffee, this is one of them.
