I love a good beef burger – a simple one, juicy and nicely browned all over, with just a bit of seasoning to allow me to enjoy the essence of the beefiness. But I love more is a jazzed up version, with cheese, egg, bacon and even better, an additional patty. That was exactly what I got when I went to Fatboy’s Burger Bar in Bangsar.
I went for the Fat Basterd (RM29), an ambitious choice of double meat patties (your choice of beef or pork), streaky bacon, cheddar cheese, fried egg and Fatboy’s BBQ on sesame bun. From experience, it’s usually good to mix two types of meat if you’re going for a double, because you get more flavour and texture from it.
Pizza The Hut (RM19.50) was also pretty decent. I liked that it had jalapeno slices a this lent a fiery touch to the patty. The addition of spicy queso further gave the burger patty a richer flavour. I enjoyed this.
We also shared the spicy wings (RM12) because I’m a big fan of hot wings and blue cheese dip. Fatboy’s version was commendable, with a good dose of spiciness and a pungent accents from the cheese dip. My only gripe? Having to share this.
They serve good milkshakes too according to rif, who dined here with a friend. Service was pretty efficient when I went about 2 months back, so that’s a plus point.
Food: 6.5/10 (non halal)
Verdict: Pretty good burger selection. You can opt to custom make your burgers too.
