The older generation often tells me to be grateful that I have a good career and that I shouldn’t complain too much. I can never agree with how baby boomers like my parents think (and how they view career progression) because that kind of mentality just doesn’t apply to Gen-Y.
It’s difficult to demand for loyalty to employers because I believe in seizing opportunities and seeking out new challenges. Perhaps I’m (a little) overly confident and ambitious, but I believe in a solid learning curve and befitting remuneration package. When an employer fails to deliver, I move on. I think this applies to most of my peers in the workforce, no? 😉
