During our stay at Prince Hotel & Residence Kuala Lumpur, rif and I were treated to a spa session at The Sompoton Spa – the perfect way to spend our evening.
What I love about spas is the soothing music, and scent of aromatherapy oils and spices. The oils make me a lot calmer and prep me for what I’m about to experience.
The Sompoton Spa is known for their signature massage using traditional Malay techniques combined with selected elements of Shiatsu, Swedish and Balinese massage. Here, you can enjoy a range of Pevonia Botanica, the choice product of spas around the world.
We both enjoyed the Purify spa treatment (RM280 for 80 minutes) where our feet are soaked in a footbath and gently massaged. Our bodies were then given the Javanese Lulur Scrub treatment for soft and radiant skin.
After a hot shower, our therapists gave us the signature Balinese massage that soothed my stresses away. The pressure applied was perfect; not too soft and not too firm. These days, I have better tolerance for pain and can now enjoy a medium-pressure massage.
Their deft hands worked at our knots around our shoulder and back, and expertly released the knots we’ve accumulated from work and our hectic lifestyle. Apparently, I have more knots compared to rif, so the therapist worked on me a bit longer. It was so relaxing that I fell asleep and had to be woken up to face front up for the other half of the massage.
My temples were also massaged to distress me, and it really worked. The Lavender Eye Pillow is said to soothe the eye area. I really needed that because I work in front of the computer all the time.
By the time we were done with the spa, I felt very relaxed, as if a huge burden was taken away from me. A good spa session really does wonders. The Purify spa session cost RM280 per person, for 80 minutes. Hotel guests can enjoy a 15% discount on the treatments at The Sompoton Spa.
