I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about the curry noodles  (curry laksa) in Glenmarie and even spotted a long queue outside the stall when I walked to Meng Kee Char Siew. Finally tried it last week with a few colleagues.

OOTD

Not a good day to eat curry as I was wearing white, but what the heck! I used some tissue paper to make a little bib so I don’t get curry all over. Mission failed. Because I had one teeny weany curry spot on my shirt. Oh well, at least it wasn’t a noticeable one.

Basically, you need to queue up at the stall and tell the guy what you want – type of noodle, bowl size, cockles or no cockles …

A standard bowl of noodles come with chicken, cockles, bean sprouts and tofu puffs. I added a piece of brinjal yong tau foo and fried wanton into my noodles, and was charged a grand total of RM7.50. Not cheap.

That aside, the curry gravy was aromatic, thick and rich in flavour. Squeeze some lime juice in to give the curry some zest. Pretty decent, but it was quite oily. My mother would have fainted at the sight of so much oil.

If you’re not big on curry noodles, you can try the ridiculously expensive chap fan next to the curry laksa stall. I once paid RM6.50 for a packet of rice with sweet and sour pork and fried sunny side up.

Verdict: Decent, but overpriced curry noodles.

i’d walk up to the guy at the stall and say what i usually say for my char kuey teow and curry mee: see hum tambah lebih! (though maybe my bowl would cost RM10 then) :D

It became expensive after adding that 2 items?! I assume both stuffed brinjal & wanton are RM2? The curry looks very lemak..but the color is nice :-p

I think the normal bowl is already RM5.50. Add two items then expensive liao. :(

Actually there is one opposite of where you ate that I believe is much better. I think the price is roughly around RM 5-6 without adding extras yet.
