This post is a backlog post, which I failed to complete more than 8 months ago (good thing I took down notes on my phone). Terrible me. rif was so annoyed at my procrastinating, he set up a timetable for me to complete all backlog posts by this year end. Thanks to this timetable, I’ve been on track. :)
We visited The Living Room at The Westin Kuala Lumpur earlier this year, after numerous recommendations from friends of our parents. With the Starwood Card, the buffet price is considerable cheaper. If I’m not mistaken, the buffet costs somewhere around RM100 per pax and the Starwood discount allowed us to enjoy a buy 1 free 1 deal.
My experience however, wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. While there was a fairly good variety, I felt that the service was disjointed. Unlike the service at Five Senses, Qba and Prego. The pasta station was manned by a rather inexperienced girl, who managed to burn and undercook my Spaghetti Bolognese at once.
The grilled items were a hit and miss. I found the grilled fish and chicken tasty, but the beef was overdone and impossibly chewy. However, I really liked the spinach and Portobello mushroom with feta cheese. Had three or four rounds of this.
I thought the desserts were quite good. The cakes were of good quality and the ice cream seemed to be made in-house. The crepe however, was a disaster because it was prepared by also an inexperienced staff. Probably just my luck that weekend.

Ambiance: 7/10
Price: 6/10
Food: 5.5/10 (halal)
Verdict: The disjointed service affected my overall dining experience, unfortunately.

Serious?? Hahahaha!
Not good for a place like that to serve mediocre food.
It’s more of the service and live stations that produced mediocre food. But the food on the spread were pretty decent.
