So rif’s place got broken into last night, when we were out for dinner. His parents were also not home during that time. We suspect it was an inside job because this guy didn’t leave any trace behind. By the time we got home at 11pm, rif’s red volkswagen jetta was missing, along with my ipad, macbook pro, iphone and cash.

While his car is insured and his car tint and nanocoat is replaceable via more cash, it is the data in my laptop that is irreplaceable. Please don’t go all lecture mode on me regarding how I should have backed up my data. I know I should have. But I also should have just left my laptop in my parent’s home instead of bringing it back to his place in the evening. And I should also have brought the ipad along with me when we went for dinner, despite my bag being too heavy.

All the should haves.

What pisses me off is how the burglar only went through my room and rif’s room. He hardly touched his parent’s room, except my father in-law’s laptop.

My mother in-law’s handbag with her wallet and cash were left untouched. And the more she talked about how he didn’t touch her money, the shittier I felt. Of course, I’m happy that she didn’t lose anything. But I’m deeply upset I lost so much.

Such a shitty way to end 2012 and start 2013.

OMG, so sorry to hear what has happened Sue Lynn. Yeah, lost data on the Ipad, etc is very hard to replace, but at least all of you didn’t go through the ordeal and your lives are safe. Trust me when I say that because, when I was 15, 2 robbers came into my house early morning, stuck a knife at my throat and beat up my mother, saying they were sent to kill us, unless we don’t give up our belongings. It took a while to get over that.
