Universal Studio is one of Singapore’s popular attractions and during peak season, please just get a Universal Express pass. We made the mistake of getting a normal pass and wasted almost 1.5 hours standing in line.

Battlestar Galactica was awesome. We started with Cylon — crazy acceleration speed that will freak the faint hearted. Christy and I loved it. Especially the part where we were upside down and spinning. #crazyshit

rif liked the human version better, but that was boring for me. Christy and I got on it and when it was over, we were like … dafuq??! So we went back to Cylon. I’ll admit this: I was scared when we started spinning upside down. But the adrenalin rush from this was exhilarating. No glasses, loose accessories and phones allowed on the ride.

Transformers: The Ride is a 3D dark ride that employs 3D high-definition video and audio-animatronics. According to my new best friend, Google. I didn’t understand the hype until I sat on the ride. So real. Too bad the queue was mad. I wanted to go again. So be wise and get the Universal Express pass. The amount of time you save from queuing up is worth the money spent.

Revenge of the Mummy was scary for me. I’ve never been a fan of mummies and Egyptian horror movies. But rif liked this. There was a point where the car dropped 39 ft, which was nice. Other than that, not a ride I would go on unless there is no queue at all.

Don’t wear your Birkenstock if you’re planning to go on the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure. You will get wet. Flip-flops are best and despite its hideous appearance, Crocs too. Remember to bring a change of clothes or you can spend 5 or 10 bucks on a plastic raincoat. Either way works.

Madagascar: A Crate Adventure was more for children. Nothing exciting. You should have seen our “oh-my-god-this-ride-is-so-boring” faces on the picture screen. Hahaha!

Lunched at Mel’s, a ’50s drive-in that serves burgers, fries and milkshake. Overpriced, but that’s to be expected that theme parks. The burgers were average. Maybe slightly better than the ones from Wendy’s but still bleh.

Best burger in town? Maybe not.

We stayed on till 7pm and watch the finale and ate a turkey leg while at it. The turkey leg was delicious. It was cured in brine, resulting in its tender texture and overall flavour. If only I discovered this earlier; I would have skipped Mel’s and gotten two turkey legs instead.

You and I both. The only thing I don’t like about theme parks is the expensive food and drinks.

Yes, it’s a bit painful since SGD is quite strong. Use a Maybank Credit Card to purchase your tickets online. There’s a 30% discount. I did that. :)
