Dark chocolate

When he really wants something, rif can go on like a broken record. He has been talking about trying the “mooncake” at Haagen-Dazs for more than two weeks and finally paid a huge chunk of moolah on them. We bought all four flavours (RM138) to try — Milk Chocolate, Strawberry Chocolate, White Chocolate and Dark Chocolate.

Strawberry chocolate

To be honest, I don’t see the appeal of ice cream mooncakes because it is still ice cream, shaped like a mooncake and coated with a layer of ganache. You might as well buy a pint or two of ice cream and try to replicate it at home. Or even better, just eat the ice cream straight from the tub. Heh! :P

Milk chocolate

But the ‘mooncake’ was quite nice, especially the strawberry chocolate. We only tried strawberry and milk chocolate so far. The latter was just normal vanilla ice cream with chocolate coat.

I used to love buying these last time but it got too expensive. I remember when a pack of 4 cost not more than RM45. Now Haagen Dazs is just extorting us
