When I launched my dotcom and new blog header in September 2011, there was an uproar on how large my header is, how ‘atas’ it looks, why I chose Yut Kee as the background, so on and so forth. Some criticised the new look while some liked it.
Today, I launch my new blog header to complement the first one. It is a concept thought of by Rif, who is (and has been) my blog manager and the brain behind most of the blog concepts and direction.
“Continuing on the previous header which features a humble, old-school kopitiam background with a posh outfit for Bangsar Babe, this new concept is the antithesis of the first header – posh ambiance and very casual outfits.
This is to reflect the carefree side of Bangsar Babe, which we see more often compared to her posh side these days.”
The posh location is actually at one of my favourite restaurants – Prime, in Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur. I’m so thankful that the management of Le Meridien allowed us to do the photoshoot at the restaurant; like they kindly did for my pre-wedding video. My photographer for this shoot is Mike Yip, who was also the photographer for my first blog header.
We found this header a bit tougher to execute as there were many things to consider – lighting, furniture position, facial expressions and movements. Thankfully, the staff at Prime were most accommodating and even lent me a chef hat to make things more fun.
It took us more than 2 hours of photoshoot to achieve this (Rif art directed the entire process) and I’m pleased with the outcome. Again, I know some are bound to criticise this header like they did for the first one, but to each his own. I like my header and I’m sticking with it.
So there you have it, the new Bangsar Babe blog header!
