I’ve never been a fan of nature and sitting on grass was something I was forced to do in school, so a garden picnic is the last thing I would want. But Jeen spoke about how nice a picnic at Botanic Garden is, how the trees are large and shady and how clean the place is. So I caved and tried a garden picnic.
Yes, the garden was very clean and the trees were large and shady. But it was too hot for comfort. Silly me wore jeans because I didn’t want to get bitten by bugs so imagine the heat! I took my pants off eventually. No need to buy me a cocktail even…lol!
rif and I bought lunch from Gastronomia Da Paolo across the road – chicken lasagna (SGD9), shepherd’s pie (SGD8) and caprese salad (SGD9). The salad was quite decent but I didn’t like the lasagna. It tasted rather bland and the pasta sheets were a tad thick. rif’s pie was better, but still quite ordinary in my books.
Maybe if I sat on a proper table, I would enjoy the food better. No more garden picnics for me please!
