Home Beauty Anggun Spa Review, Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur

Many people think my blog is the only thing I manage and that I do nothing else but sit at home and relax. I don’t know why they would assume so, but here’s the real story:

  • I have a full time job
  • I write for 2 publications
  • I do freelance product write-ups
  • I update my blog 5 times a week
  • I do one video blog every month
  • I interact with my readers on my Facebook page
  • I teach piano to children during weekends
  • I work with underprivileged children whenever possible. If I can’t make it, my in-laws will take over the task.

Juggling my time isn’t easy and I’m glad rif is understanding and supportive of what I do. That said, I often feel stressed and frustrated when I’m faced with obstacles such as kids who don’t practice piano, last minute articles, uncooperative staff and blog related issues. During my stay at Hotel Maya recently, I also enjoyed a detoxification therapy session at Anggun Spa, on Level 3.

Treatment room for couples

The 6 treatment rooms – Badam, Cengkih, Pandan, Pudina, Serai and Sirih – reflect the local ingredients commonly used in spa treatments. My session included a foot spa, full body ginger scrub, herbal bath therapy and aromatherapy full body massage.

Zen-like ambiance

My tired feet were relaxed in a warm rose petal bath while I sipped on ginger tea. Foot spas are said to improve blood circulation and reduce tension on the feet. Soon after that, my masseur Ain exfoliated my skin and removed dull and rough skin surface with the ginger scrub.

The herbal bath therapy was unlike any other herbal bath I’ve tried before. The bathtub was filled with cinnamon, star anise, cardamom and a few others I couldn’t identify. Also, there were plenty of rose petals, lemon and fig slices. During the first 15 minutes, I found the bath warm, fragrant and very therapeutic. It helped open up my pores and reduce toxin build-up and water retention in my body. That 30 minutes of alone time allowed me to reflect on my life goals and priorities. ;)

Felt so good!

And finally, Ain massaged my stress and worries away…at least for that one hour. She went through my ‘knots’ and untangled them. The experience was both relieving and slightly painful, in a good way. I dozed off during the massage. So shiok! You can also inform the masseur to increase or decrease the pressure.

Waiting for my full body massage :)

By the time I was done with my spa session, I felt lighter, less agitated and more rejuvenated. Also, my skin was noticeably more supple with a radiant glow.  If you’re interested in the detoxification therapy (RM390 for 2 hours 30 minutes), Anggun Spa is open daily from 10am – 10pm. Hotel guests enjoy a 30% discount on the spa packages, so call 03-2711 8866 for an appointment.

Yeah, spa is something I so 2-3 times a year. Am planning to go again for my birthday. Treat myself. Hehe ;)

Thanks for dropping by last weekend! Yes, I love “kinda Christmas”. So gooey and rich. Ya lor…the pork dog took a while. The cook was a perfectionist. But I had the pork-gy…that was good!

Regarding the copycat, yeah, can’t help it. But so geram!! :(

y’know, i’ve actually never treated myself to a hotel spa session before. but hotel maya is just a 10-minute drive from my office, so if i ever really need one after a stressful day at work, i might just head here! :D
