December has been a very busy month for me work-wise. rif and I decided to put our honeymoon on hold as we both have a ton of work to catch up on. We’re not sure when we will get to go for our vacation or where we will be going, but I’m hoping we would be able to scrap up enough moolah to go for a long one, faraway. :)
Amidst our busy schedule, I managed to squeeze in a review on the Christmas Buffet at Sudu, Hilton Kuala Lumpur. The crowd must have been super hungry that night as the food had to be replenished constantly. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to eat any freshly shucked oysters that night.
I did however, tuck into three servings of roasted lamb rump and helped myself to the slices with fatty centre. Roast turkey is available too, and it was one of the better turkeys I’ve eaten. Then again, it could be because I took the turkey thigh – that part is always tasty and smooth.
The asparagus soup was simple, but fairly thick in texture. I added some croutons and drizzled olive oil on top for added aroma. Portions are relatively smaller so you can be assured of fresh food all the time. That said, if you don’t get to the spread early enough, you will end up having to wait for the next batch of food. I gave up waiting for some of the dishes, and piled my plate high with lamb and turkey.
From the dessert selection, I especially enjoyed the warm chocolate cake with vanilla sauce, walnut tart and vanilla ice cream. While I was slightly annoyed with how quickly the food disappeared, the food quality made up for it. The buffet at Sudu is available on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (lunch and dinner) for RM168++ per person.
