Home Celebration Fraser Place Kuala Lumpur

Fraser Place Kuala Lumpur

by Bangsar Babe

My September and most of October were spent looking into wedding details, making difficult choices and going through various gown fittings (thanks to the bridal studio that lost my wedding gown). On top of that, we were suddenly left without a hen’s night venue and beers for the ROM and wedding dinner.

But as I’ve learnt over the past 10 months of wedding planning, there’s often a rainbow after a downpour. My “rainbow” in this case was Alex, who out of kindness and generosity offered to host my hen’s night at his new restobar, Aural, in KL Citywalk. He closed (and draped the exterior with black cloth) the place for the night, so my girls and I could have a good time without getting strange stares from strangers.

Another rainbow came along when I was at Aural, having a drink and checking out the place. I met Shirley Lai, GM of Fraser Place who offered two of her stylish residences for my friends and I to stay the hen’s night! I actually thought she was joking, until her email to me the next few days proved otherwise.

That afternoon before the hen’s night, we checked into our swanky one bedroom executive residence (3 people per unit) and took a tour of Fraser Place. Our units (from RM500 onwards per night, per unit) were a spacious 65sqm of living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom, wardrobe and bathroom. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable, I slept like a baby that night. Ok fine, I was already ‘gone’ from the alcohol, but still…it was a damn comfortable bed. My friends would attest to that.

Pweetty pleeeaaasseee…can I take this pillow back?

Candid shot of me popping the champagne :)

They have a high-tech gym with a yoga/aerobics room, a full equipped games room, steam/sauna facilities with hot and cold dips and an infinity pool overlooking the view of Kuala Lumpur. We were at the pool and hot dip most of our time there. In fact, we started our drinking at 3pm with champagne by the pool.

We totally forgot that the kitchen is fully equipped and asked Aural for champagne glasses. I think that’s totally normal as many hotels/service apartments don’t come with such an equipped kitchen – induction cooker, cooker hood, kitchen utensils, cutleries, microwave oven, electric kettle, coffee maker, toaster and fridge. At least not the ones I’ve stayed at.

The bathrooms are modern with “see through” glass, but the one in our unit is still relatively covered up. For some reason, I’m always uncomfortable about open bathroom concepts, as I don’t fancy someone else looking at me while I’m in the toilet/shower. Imagine you’re taking a huge dump, and it’s watchable from the outside. Damn unglam right?! LOL. Anyway, for those of you who can’t be bothered to bring toiletries, you get to use Peter Thomas Roth products.

I never knew Fraser Place was so close to KL Citywalk (literally 200m away) and just a short walking distance to restaurants, cafes, shopping and KL nightlife. Very convenient, especially with the monorail and LRT station nearby. Breakfast is provided, and when I woke up the next morning, I was famished – happens when I drink a lot the night before. The selection was quite basic, but definitely sufficient. Don’t expect the staff to serve you coffee – it is mostly self service and you can get your coffee at the bar counter, along with the juices and milk.

Thank you Christy…for the champagne and for planning my hen’s night at Aural! *hugs*

That next day, we asked for an extended checkout time because we couldn’t get enough of the pool and hot dip. We were in the dip until 2 pm, and rushed to check out later on. The staff were polite and accommodative throughout our stay there, and always had a smile on their face. Thank you Shirley and team, for such a memorable, comfortable and enjoyable stay at Fraser Place!
