On our 7th Anniversary, we choose to go to Silver Spoon Trattoria to celebrate. That’s because rif and I used to frequent Chef Ken’s place on special occasions when we started dating. I made a reservation, and they gave us a nice table at the corner, away from the crowd.Pardon the not-so-good-pictures. Our spot was dimly lit (romantic ma…), so this was the best I could do given the lighting restrictions. The homemade chicken liver pate tasted just as good as it did during my first visit. Flavoured with brandy and thyme, the pate was buttery rich, smooth and well worth the RM17 price tag. My lamb shank (RM38) was tender, and the gravy was deeply flavoured. According to the manager, this was braised for hours in white wine and lamb stock. I also enjoyed the bed of mashed potatoes the lamb shank sat on — creamy, fluffy and slightly buttery. Even the vegetables were well-infused with the flavours of the lamb. rif struck gold with the Hake fillet (RM 29). Battered and fried till golden perfection, the fish was firm, sweet and slightly flaky — and done more justice with the tartar sauce. I nearly wanted to change main courses with him! Dessert was none other than the Tiramisu (RM16). I plan order a different dessert in future…once I get past this tiramisu!
