Awfully back-dated post. I know, someone smack me please!
The Nymphenburg palace and its park is one of the most famous sights of Munich. rif and I visited the park, but we did not enter the palace. It cost €10 per entrance fee. In the ponds at the park, there are many swans and wild gooses, but you are not allowed to feed them.Address: Schloss Nymphenburg,Eingang 19, 80638 München

The Roman Catholic Theatine Church St. Cajetan (Theatinerkirche St. Kajetan) was founded by Elector Ferdinand Maria and his wife, Henriette Adelaide of Savoy, as a gesture of thanks for the birth of the long-awaited heir to the Bavarian crown, Prince Max Emanuel, in 1662. The founders and other important members of the Bavarian ruling family are buried inside the church. It was built in baroque style from 1663 to 1690 by Italian Architects Agostino Barelli and Enrico Zuccalli. In 1768, François de Cuvilles completed the facade in rococo style. Its Mediterranean appearance and yellow coloring became a well known symbol for the city and had much influence on Southern German baroque architecture.
Munich is famous for its Weisswurst, a traditional Bavarian sausage (white sausage) made from minced veal and pork bacon. It is eaten without the casing, but silly me ate the sausage, casing and all. *shy*
I also had a hearty portion of roast pork, also known as Schweinsbraten in German (sorry, no picture!). If you’re a huge fan of luncheon meat, you would probably love the Leberkäse. I certainly did. The Leberkäse consists of a mixture of pork, veal, spices and lemon zest. It makes a pretty cheap snack too – €1.50 for a Leberkässemmeln, a white roll filled with a thick warm slice of Leberkäse.
The currywurst tasted weird. No, let me rephrase that. It was awful. I thought the curry sauce was the most un-curry tasting sauce ever. It tasted like ketchup with plenty of curry powder. I should have stuck to good old weisswurst.
Like the strudels in Vienna, I thought this apple strudel wasn’t good. It did taste better than the one from Vienna, but still, I didn’t like it. Was too disappointed to try the other pastries. I would rather spend my euros on more roast pork.
We were there during Octoberfest, and I had a wee bit too much to drink. Beer is cheaper than water in Germany! I konked out on our train ride back to Paris.
