Home Uncategorized PappaRich, Bangsar Baru

rif once made a comment about Pappa Rich, when I kept wanting to go there everyday for a drink. “Waaaa….everyday go Pappa Rich, later I become Pappa Poor!”See, the prices at Pappa Rich may be reasonable compared to the two famous coffee chains nearby, but it is still a kopitiam. One cup of Hainan Cham will set you back an RM4, and a normal lunch can cost up to RM20. When I visited the recently opened Pappa Rich in Bangsar Baru, I found the prices slightly higher than the outlets I usually patronise (Damansara Utama & 32 Square). They should change the name of this Hainan Cham Ice (RM4.20) to Ice with Hainan Cham. The ratio of ice cubes to drink was 3:1! It was gone in just 3-4 sips. To be fair, it tasted pretty good — thick and creamy with just enough sweetness.
Instead of a metal bowl, the cendol (RM5.50) came in a nice glass bowl. As good as the presentation may be, it didn’t fare well in taste. The cendol lacked gula Melaka and coconut milk. I was left feeling poorer and disappointed.

Service was all over the place, probably because they are new and need to get the hang of things. The family at the next table got their food mixed up by the waiter, and special requests like curry mee with no cockles were forgotten.

Ambiance: 6/10
Price: 5/10
Cendol: 2/10
Hainan Cham: 5/10
Verdict: Despite the slightly higher prices, it is still a good place to have drinks and light bites.

mimi – Yup…it is expensive. T__T

Nor Ramli – Thank you for your continuous support! It's the same as all the Pappa Rich outlets, only slightly more expensive because of the location.

Yes, I always eat the Kari Kepala Ikan behind tmc. Ever since I was 17. It's quite good, especially when you eat it with fried chicken and sotong. Best! ;)

*Not sure if you will be alright with the ambiance though. Some peopl cannot stand eating there, so they takeaway the food.

in bandar puteri puchong…pappa rich is very happening and got their famous steamed bun bread … but i find their drinks and food is much expensive than oldtown kopitiam…hence both also provide wifi … to me, i prefer oldtown for its price as both also is similar kind of concept and food.

agree with u…will be pappa poor if everyday yum char at here

Cumi & Ciki – Ya lor…it's worse now. Damn pain also. Kenot wear hot pants for the next month de. =(

eiling – Liddat they might charge me extra somemore. =P

vialentino – Pappa Rich's wifi is faster. Kekeke… ;)

ai wei – A bit more ex…like 50 cents up.

Nor Ramli – Enjoy!

Su – Hi hi!

I think the food quality depends on the outlets you go to. The one I had in Putrajaya was crap. But the one in Damansara Utama was decent. Depends on luck and who's doing the cooking lor… T__T

nomad – Yup yup! Hehe…
