The Talk, Bangsar

I recently met up for drinks with backStreetGluttons (half the team) and Min from After Giovanni at The Talk. No thanks to the downpour, I was late for our supposed 7pm meeting. Toni ordered the squid strips which I didn’t try as I was busy chatting away with him and Min. Lim ate this so you’ll have to ask him how it was. I thought the hand rolls lacked mayonnaise and the seaweed was chewy. Also, the chef went overboard with the cucumber and leafy vegetables. o_0The Grilled Teriyaki Salmon Head was substandard. While the texture of the meat was firm, it was not well-grilled so the flavours did not come through. I expected a crispy outer layer but this was slightly soggy. BSG found it equally disappointing. The food is nothing to shout about, but it was nice catching up. We should do this again!

Ambiance: 7/10
Food: 5/10 (pork-free)
Verdict: An OK place to catch up, but I personally didn’t like the food.

We used to like this place a lot , to talk and to snack over beers. Seems things have changed , at least the food which has become unfamiliar though they might look da same !

Anyway it was a nice meeting and sad it had to end early as I am quite sure we still have at least 5 hours of sweet refreshing talking left for the night !

The company was way better than the food, or the little that I tasted of it anyway! Sorry to have left early, all that talk about food was most inspiring! Until the next time, folks!
