Home Food Reviews Food Republic, Pavilion KL

While at the Pavilion last weekend, I was craving for something to eat so I decided to try the Fried Oyster Omelette (RM8) at Thye Hong, Food Republic. While lining up for my food, I noticed a lot of people ordering the fried carrot cake. Hmmm…must be quite good eh? The oysters were not fried together with the egg mixture. It was only added into the omelette once it’s ready. I thought the omelette was average. Unlike the hawker versions, it wasn’t too sticky or gooey. The oysters were plump, fresh and bursty. However, it’s nowhere near the Penang or Malacca version which I love. :P

Ambiance: 6/10
Price: 7/10
Taste: 6/10 (halal)
Verdict: Not bad…for food court standard.

No la…I was just very very hungry (cos someone didn’t feed me lunch). Once I was about to finish it, then only I realize it’s actually rather mediocre. Heh! :P

i’m eating sourdough drizzled with caramelised balsamic, olive oil and a pinch of salt at 4 in the morning. this might be one of the best ways to eat bread, ever (seriously, caramelized balsamic is like nectar, see if you can get your hands on it in kl) but i’m craving nasi lemak so bad right now, i would sell what’s left of my soul for it.

that said, that oyster omelette looks damn good

Sounds good. I’ll make a note to check it at Cold Storage, since they carry more foreign brands.

I thought you can get nasi lemak in Sydney…no? Well…looks can be deceiving. The one we had in Malacca was much better.
